Google celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube with an animated doodle, which enables you to solve the puzzle online. Go on the Google landing page and click on the cube. It will enlarge and become fully coloured and playable. The fun can begin!

The Rubik’s Cube was originally invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik, a Hungarian architect, who wanted a model to help to explain three-dimensional geometry. Surprisingly it took him one month, before he was able to solve the puzzle himself. Today the best players need around 6 seconds to solve it!
