Life of a New Hire

This time, we’re getting to know one of our fantastic new Adthenians and learning more about their first few months working with us.

We’d like you to meet Vessy Dragusheva, our Product Lead. Vessy works within the Product team in London and joined in January 2025. 

What inspired you to become a Product Lead and how did you get your start in the field?

I’ve always been fascinated by how technology enables our lives and the impact design has on our day-to-day experiences. Plus I’ve always loved solving problems (and puzzles)! Product started as a small part of a role I had more than 10 years ago. As it became my favourite part, I decided to pursue it as a career and never looked back.

What drew you to join Adthena?

Data and cutting-edge technology. It felt (and still feels) that Adthena is always at the forefront of new developments, which makes it a really interesting company to work for.

What skills are most essential for a product manager to succeed in a tech company like Adthena?

Curiosity, adaptability and grit. We are a fast-paced company, operating in a dynamic domain, so product managers need to constantly embrace this.

What was your favourite highlight & biggest challenge so far?

My highlights so far have been meeting the team in person. There are always plenty of new ideas, and it’s a lot of fun when we are all together in the same room. The biggest challenge so far is prioritisation – there are so many great things we’d like to build and never enough time to do them all.

If you could have any superpower to help you with your job, what would it be and why?

Time-travel (or is this too much to ask 😀). I’d love to be able to take a sneak peek into the future, so I can plan and prioritise better today.

How do you unwind after a busy day?

I would usually do yoga and/or a long walk in a park with a podcast on.

Any top tips for new Adthenians coming onboard?

Take time to understand the product / the data – almost 6 months in and I am still learning something new every day. Also make sure you ask a lot of questions – the team is super friendly and are always around to help.

As an Adthenian we live by four values, which one resonates with you the most and why?

Smart and always improving hits closest to home. Product works in a similar iterative way – I like to do something small nicely, learn from my mistakes and evolve as I go.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Have fun! And I live by it (almost) every day. Work is such a big part of your life, so you need to make sure you enjoy it!
